Hope Solo has sported some skin-baring outfits on Dancing with the Stars -- and now she's upped her game by taking it all off! The 30-year-old star goalkeeper for the U.S. women's national soccer team posed in the buff for the cover of ESPN magazine's annual Body Issue. As you can see, the muscular beauty is very comfortable in her birthday suit.
"I honestly feel honored to have the opportunity to celebrate not just the athlete's body, but the female athlete's body," says Solo in an interview on the ESPN website. "Honestly, this is my word of the day: It's pretty liberating."
That's not to say she feels like a pin-up girl or anything. Despite her many male admirers, Solo laughs off the idea that she's a sex symbol.
"I don't take it seriously at all," she says. "I'm an athlete, that's all I am. If a sex symbol is now a top female athlete, I think that's pretty amazing and it shows how far our culture has come from the stick-thin models you see in magazines."
She also says that she thinks her beauty comes from the game -- not from her body.
"Sure, I've had marriage proposals, invitations to military balls and prom offers," Solo says in the magazine. "But my entire purpose is trying to be the best, and if that exudes beauty too… it means the image of the typical female body type is finally evolving."
Maksim Chmerkovskiy's dance partner even admits that growing up, she felt insecure about her muscular 5'9" build.
"Guys would say, 'Look at those muscles! You can kick my a**!'" she says. "I didn't feel feminine. But that's changed in the last four years."
