Google confirms gov't probe (Investor's Business Daily)

The search leader said the FTC has begun a formal antitrust inquiry into its business practices, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG - News) said, confirming earlier media reports. But the company said, "It's still unclear exactly what the FTC's concerns are." The probe is expected to focus on whether Google abused its dominance to direct search users to Google-tied sites. The EU is conducting a similar inquiry. Shares fell 1%.
