Even though I?ve always felt kind of blah about anniversaries, I have to admit this one is kind of cute (if a little over the top)?.
Champagne: not so original but always appropriate for anniversaries. And birthdays. And holidays. And bad days. Or good days. Whatever, I like some bubbly.
Since their wedding in 2008, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have celebrated each year with a very special moment?of skywriting! An airplane writes out the number of years they?ve been married. This year makes four, and Ellen surprised Portia with a little extra message of love. Check out the lovely photos to see the sweet note in the sky here.
I may just be swayed because I love Ellen and Portia as a couple so much (seriously guys, please don?t ever break my heart with another celebrity breakup!), but I find this grand gesture to be pretty adorbs. Sure, most of us probably don?t have it in our budgets to hire a skywriter every year, but if you can come up with a less expensive photo-op (like holding a handmade sign or a chalkboard with the number of years on it) it?s a sweet tradition to document yourselves and your relationship over the years. This is adorable for friends too?did you see that story a while back about the five guy friends who took their picture in the same place over the course of thirty years? So stinking cute.
