The calendar may not show it, but it felt a little like March Madness on Monday night at the Mauldin Sports Center.
The Silver and Gold Divisions for 9-10 year olds had their championship games and both games were not decided until the final minute.
In the opener, the Celtics, coached by Stuart Lenning, staged a late rally to edge the Hornets 22-18.
In the nightcap, the Lakers and Jazz were never separated by more than two points for most of the game. But in the final minute Coach Rhondi Hackett's squad hit some tough shots to allow the Lakers to hold off a valiant Jazz team, 21-17.
All four teams were given medals and commended after the game for good sportsmanship.
